- TITLE OF COURSE: PE1112 - Outdoor Challenge Ropes Course
- COURSE DESCRIPTION:
1 credit hour lab. The purpose of this class is to offer students the opportunity to participate in a series of activities involving mental and
physical challenge, and emotional risk-taking, in an open,
caring and safe environment.
The goals of the class are to: promote teamwork, safe fun, to
take care of others, and ourselves and to “expand” personally
beyond self-imposed limits. For each unit of credit, a minimum of three hours per week with one of the hours for class and two hours for studying/preparation outside of class is expected.
- PROGRAM AND DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT: The Seward County Community College/Area Technical School physical education program will broaden the understanding of fitness for life by providing general education, appropriate technology, and professional development opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

- SCCC/ATS Outcome #1 will be assessed and measured by skills testing and journal assignments.
- SCCC/ATS Outcome #2 will be assessed and measured by journal assignments.
- SCCC/ATS Outcome #3 will be assessed and measured by group interaction.
- SCCC/ATS Outcome #5 will be assessed and measured by group interaction and decisions made during Challenge Course activities.
- SCCC/ATS Outcome #7 will be assessed and measured by group interaction with the diversity in the group.
